This weekend…

Squirrels and their Foraging Habits  –
Sunday, April 7 –
2:00-3:30 pm   –

Squirrels exhibit fascinating forging habits that vary significantly throughout the seasons. Talk about various resources that they will find from buds, nuts, seeds and insects.

Solar Eclipse and the Weather  –
Monday, April 8 –
2:00-4:00 pm –

Come view a rarity in our sky, where day becomes night! We will also observe how it affects our climate and the surrounding skies! Limited viewing glasses will be provided! Bring chairs and/or blankets, while we take a daytime break with the sun for a while!

We will see peak coverage – 90% – at 3:26pm.

Please pack your patience and plan to park in Playland’s lot if the Sanctuary’s spaces are full. Do not park on the grass.

Plus… –

Shoreline Restoration Project has begun –

You’ll notice construction vehicles and equipment in the grass field just outside the sanctuary gates. A Living Shoreline is being constructed to increase the resiliency of our shoreline while also improving habitat for wildlife. Once the project is complete, the grass field will reopen. Projected completion date is Sept 2025.

We will continue to update our members with important information as we learn it. Thank you for your patience!
