Weekend programming is back!
We had a full summer and a wonderful time with our campers. Now that it’s back-to-school for many and our staff is back to working weekends. Be on the lookout for new programs to be added to our website in the coming weeks. Here’s a taste of what’s in store tomorrow and next weekend:
Saturday, September 16
Seeing the Trees for the Leaves
1:00-2:30 pm
While the leaves on the trees are still full, we will observe, collect and study the makings and functions of their various shapes and sizes.
Meet a the nature center building. Dress for the outdoors.

Saturday, September 23
Fall Seining by the Sound
1:00-2:30 pm
Once again, it’s time to catch observe and release a plethora of salt water organisms. We will use a 25-foot long seining net. Please bring clothing to get wet. No swim gear please. Fun for the whole family!

Saturday, September 23
THE WILDERNESS CHAMBER PLAYERS
5:00-6:00 PM
Join us for a free, light concert on the nature center porch. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the sounds of the Wilderness Chamber Players. Compliments of the Friends of Read.

Sunday, September 24
Crabs and Other Rock Creatures
2:00-3:30 pm
We will look for and identify crabs and other rock creatures along our beautiful shoreline. Fun for the whole family!
