We understand that many of you have non-working membership cards while others are still waiting for theirs to arrive. As you know, Playland manages the gates and we are working closely with them to resolve all issues. Here’s what we know.
We have been told that all of our membership cards purchased before May 8 have been activated. If your card does not work at the gate, please be patient and email friendsofreadws@gmail.com We can fix your card problem remotely. Do not throw away your card.
Cards purchased after May 8 should be ready shortly. Playland is straightening out their own gate problems before they will issue us more membership cards.
IF YOU DO NOT YET HAVE A MEMBERSHIP CARD or if yours is not working. Please approach an attended parking booth and let the attendant know you are a member of the Sanctuary. Playland has reminded the attendants to allow all members through until the gate access is resolved.
Do not let the lack of a card prevent you from visiting.
PARKING GATES:
During Playland’s season, the gates into the Sanctuary will be closed during Playland’s hours of operation*. Remember, the Sanctuary’s gate is Lane 5 off the main circle. (We do not have access through the bus entrance).
Until further notice, you can expect these gates to be open when Playland is closed. When the gates are open, you do not need your membership card.

Thank you all for your patience while Playland’s new management works out the kinks and while the County finishes their capital improvements. The end will be a better place to visit for all!
