Invasive Species Awareness Day

Help us fight back invasive species in the park and promote the restoration of native plants and by extension benefit native animals in the park. With over 30 invasive species present in the park, we need the help of our community to help restore this land support healthy native ecology. Join our Naturalist, Joe, and learn more about the impacts of invasive species plants as well as the invasive spotted lantern fly. Pack a lunch. Tools are provided. This is in conjunction with the Invasive Species themed weekend.

 

Come help us remove invasive species and restore the park!

1:00-3:00 PM

Help us remove invasive species plants and begin the restoration of native habitats in the Sanctuary. Tools and equipment are provided. Focus species include linden viburnum, Siebold’s viburnum, Chinese fountaingrass, knotweed and mile-a-minute. Qualifies for service credit hours. Please bring work gloves. Meet at the Nature Center building.
