FIRE MAKING WITH MICHAEL GAMBINO

Join guest speaker, Michael Gambino, Curator of Marshlands Conservancy, as he will teach you the items to collect and the tools for five different methods of making fire. If we are successful, we can reward ourselves with tasty s’mores! Program meets at the visitor center. Space is limited.
$7 fee

GATES/MEMBERSHIP CARDS:
As you visit this weekend please know that the gates into the sanctuary are not working. This does not mean your card is not working. It is a gate problem that Playland is working to resolve. FRWS and Playland staff have been in constant communications regarding the issues with our membership cards and the gates.
Please hold onto your card. It will work when the gates work. If it doesn’t work, we can fix it.
Please do not take advice from the parking attendants. They are seasonal staff hired by Playland. They are not usually informed of sanctuary business. Be sure you are getting all of your information from our website and emails.
Please ignore the 2022 sticker on your card. It is simply a “born on” date. You will not be receiving a new sticker. It is ok if you card doesn’t have a sticker at all. (If your sticker is 2020 or 2021, you are using an outdated barcoded card. You may discard it.)

We are currently receiving a higher volume of emails than usual. Please be patient with us. We are a largely volunteer group and we are trying our best to keep up with all communications.
Please check your junk/spam folders. For some reason, our communications are landing there.
If you purchased/renewed your membership prior to May 28 and have not seen an email from us, please use the search function to find friendsofreadws@gmail.com. We always send an email letting you know if your card has been mailed or reactivated. (Memberships purchased from May 26-June 1 should be receiving an email soon. Those cards have all been mailed/reactivated.)
